Quadriplegia / Tetraplegia
Quadriplegia, also called tetraplegia, is the result of a spinal cord injury at the top of the spine, in the cervical disks of the neck. A “complete” spinal cord injury results in the complete loss of feeling and movement throughout the body below the point of injury.

An “incomplete” cervical spine injury means the spinal cord was damaged but there is still some feeling or control of limbs. Anterior cord syndrome, central cord syndrome, posterior cord syndrome, and Brown-Séquard syndrome—each type of incomplete spinal cord injury results in a different degree of impairment. It can take weeks or months to know the full effects of an incomplete spinal cord injury.

Bringing a Quadriplegia Lawsuit
There are three parts of any personal injury lawsuit: proving another party was responsible for the accident, communicating the extent of physical and psychological damages, and presenting evidence of the true costs of the injury over the course of a lifetime.

Proving that another party was responsible for the accident requires a thorough investigation. At Blackman Legal Group our personal injury attorneys work with accident reconstruction engineers and expert investigators to determine the causes of your accident and to explain them effectively to a jury.

Quadriplegia

This medical illustration was created for use during a personal injury trial of an auto accident case in which our client suffered spinal cord injuries resulting in quadriplegia. The illustrations were professionally created from our client’s x-rays and MRIs to accurately depict the fracture of the spine, damage to the spinal cord, and other injuries to our client's neck. Illustrations such as these make it easy for members of the jury to understand the seriousness of the person's injury, and to understand the testimony of surgeons and physicians as they talk about the injury and its short- and long-term impact on quality of life for the injured person.

One of the things that sets Blackman Legal Group apart from other law firms is the production and use of high-quality illustrations such as these.

Quadriplegia will severely limit daily life activities; it can even make eating and breathing difficult. It is the most costly type of injury. It is also costly to pursue a quadriplegia lawsuit in court. At Blackman Legal Group, we have the financial and expert resources needed to take your case as far as it needs to go to get you the disability compensation you deserve.
